School Sponsorships Needed!
August 2008- It's that time of year again. The last of summer trips are ending and everyone is gearing up for school. Purchasing new shoes, clothes, school supplies and backpacks are on the 'list' of things to do.
Would you please consider adding one more item to your list....a school sponsorship for an orphan? Public education is not free to orphans. It is only through generous donors like yourself that these children receive the gift of schooling. Sponsorships range from $20-40 per month.
Below are just some of the beautiful kids who need your help. Please email [info@HopesHeart.org] or call (913) 764-6750 to pledge your support. Thank you!

September UDPATE- Hope's Heart is taking 19 school children under their wing. Eight [8] have been chosen by caring individuals who are investing in their social, cognitive and physical development. What a huge blessing. Thank you so very much. Eleven [11] other children are still waiting for sponsors. Would you be the one to gift them with a school sponsorship?
November UPDATE- Our school children are growing in every realm as they experience the joy of attending school. Here are a couple pictures which portray their schooling opportunities...

School Opening
May 2008- In the U.S. the month of May means school is soon ending for a much anticipated vacation time. But in China the month of May brought quite the opposite...a celebration of a new school opening. Classrooms housed within a new orphanage facility has opened opportunities for 25 little ones [2-8 years of age] to grow and develop in both social and cognitive skills. Hope's Heart will continue to support the school as well as supply annual sponsorships for ten of the children.
October UDPATE- The kids are settling into the classroom routine, and, as with any school, there are a variety of personalities charming the teachers. We are so grateful for the opportunity these children have been given, and are blessed to see them interacting with the developmental tools in the classroom.

School Sponsorships Continue
March 2008- Realizing the critical importance of school attendance and the impact it has on a child, Hope's Heart has renewed two more one-year school sponsorships. Whitney and Sheng are both in that sensitive 10-14 year-old age range. The opportunities they realize through school interaction have played a significant role in their lives. We are honored to assist them in continuing to grow and develop, and open new opportunities for them to succeed and learn.
June UPDATE- Whitney is enjoying summer vacation, and is reading as many books as possible. She is determined to do well in school next year. Sheng's marks for the term ranked him FIRST in his class. He plans to read more books and keep learning throughout the summer. He has also been given the honor to be chosen to attend the summer Olympics. What an honor! Congratulations, Sheng!
September UPDATE- Back from summer vacation, Sheng and Whitney are geared up and ready to learn. Whitney was grateful for the books she was given over the summer, and she is eager to do well this year. Sheng was motivated by the life changing trip to the Olympics, and is sure to continue to excel in his studies.
College Tuition
January 2008- We are so thrilled to hear that an orphan has worked so hard in her studies that she is able to attend college classes. Having helped sponsor Linda in 2007, we are excited for this outstanding opportunity to continue her education, and support her efforts with a contribution to her college tuition this semester.
April UPDATE- Another milestone has been reached. We are in awe of this accomplishment...life outside the orphanage. Tremendous strides have been made, and now Linda is beginning her young adult life with gainful employment and a shared apartment. Assistance will be give to aid in learning life skill such as cooking, shopping, social interaction, etc. What a giant step!
Two New School Sponsorships for Kindergarteners
January 2008- Although 20 school sponsorships were continued from 2007, we are delighted to sponsor two more little ones for kindergarten. Both of these little girls will benefit from all the resources and interactions afforded them in school. We welcome Yu and Ying as our two newest kids.
March UPDATE- In their short time in school, both of these little girls are adapting well. They are growing in physical, cognitive, social and language areas. Singing is one of their favorite things to do.
September UPDATE- Yu confidently goes to school each day, participating in all the activities and completing her work. She loves to draw and is learning to write her numbers. Ying was very excited to get back to school and see her friends after the summer break. She really likes her school and is now recognizing basic shapes and colors.
Education Sponsorship Renewal
January 2008- In the past year the opportunity to attend school has made a night-day change for Lillie. She is growing in confidence, learning and mastering many areas of development. She cares about others and is an angel in class. Hope's Heart is thrilled to have another full year of her schooling funded. We can't wait to hear of exciting developments for Lillie this year.
April UPDATE- The teachers are so proud of Lillie's accomplishments over the past few months. She is able to focus for longer periods of time. Lillie loves writing and answering the teacher's questions.
September UPDATE- Her teachers describe Lillie as independent and a helper in the classroom. She enjoys school and works confidently in her learning and participation.
2008 Carry-over from 2007
Twenty (20) annual school sponsorships funded in 2007 will continue to provide developmental, social and educational benefits as we progress into 2008. These include 2 children in primary school, 17 children in 3 different school programs, and one teen girl in a school for the hearing impaired. These special children are Lillie, Kimmie, Sheng, Whitney, Ji, Guo, Mei, Fang, Alaina, David, Samuel, Steven, Matthew, Evan, Emily, Logan, Maria, Ainsley, Kim and Luke.
Additionally, Hope's Heart will continue to support the school that began in 2007. [See New School ]. Twenty three [23] children are in attendance. Each one is afforded the opportunity to grow in language, cognitive development, physical/motor and social skills, as well as to grow in an environment that caters to their specific needs and abilities.
February UPDATE- This month we celebrate David's adoption into his new family!!
March UPDATE- We received reports on Sheng, Whitney, Ji, Guo, Mei, Fang, Emily, Gracie [replacing David], Steven, Luke, Matthew, Evan and Samuel. Every child is thriving with the special opportunity they have to attend school. From the youngest to the oldest, each of the children is enjoying the time spent in school. We are grateful for the all around developmental growth they are experiencing.
August UPDATE- Wonderful news. Guo has been adopted. There is no greater gift for an orphan than to have his/her own family. We have loved sponsoring Guo the past couple years, but are thrilled for her to now have her very own family. We know the experienceing and opportunities she had at school will help with her adjustment.
September UDPATE- As the new year gets underway, reports are in for Ji, Mei, Fang and Mia. Everyone loves Mei and she is the protector and helper of the smaller children. Ji is industrious and always has a smile on his face. Fang is a bright girl and excited about being back in school. Little Mia is new to school. We believe she will grow to love school as she has time to adjust to the new environment and make new friends.
2007 Educational and Developmental Projects
Preparing to Open a New School for Orphans Our Challenge to YOU!
August 2007- Few of us stop to think of the tremendous impact school attendance has on a child. That impact multiplies substantially in the life of orphans confined to institutional living. Hope's Heart is excited to announce that we have committed to funding the establishment of a school for special needs orphans. Bridging a gap that would remain without intervention, this school will open a door of opportunity for growth, interaction, development, stimulation, and fun. It will bring hope and joy into lives that are often void of it because of the circumstances surrounding their lives. This project will allow special needs orphans, who do not have the opportunity to attend the public school, the gift of their own school inside the orphanage. For children of all ages, this will be the first time they are given a chance at learning.
The school will provide a learning environment which fosters creativity, exploration, confidence, independence, decision making and social development. This program will make a significant impact on the orphans who attend. It will provide an environment where orphans can explore, learn, and develop in many realms of their lives. The funds provided by Hope's Heart will cover classroom supplies and furniture, curriculum, renovation of the classrooms, and teacher training.
Our Challenge to You! We invite you to take a step to unlock the door to a brighter future for some of China's special children. Funding for the establishment of the school has been met. Now we need SPONSORS for 23 children. Sponsorship will gift each child with new horizons of self-identity, self-confidence, motivation, hope, skills and personal development. An annual sponsorship of $240 will express your care and investment in one of their lives. Are you willing to bless a child(ren) in this way? Please contact us at info@HopesHeart.org to express you desire.
September UPDATE- School has begun! Twenty-three kids are stepping foot into a classroom for the first time. Both they and the teachers are excited. Twelve of the children now have sponsors [7 through Hope's Heart]. You, along with a special child, will receive great rewards from your outreach through sponsorship. Please consider sponsoring one of the 11 children who need a sponsor to come along side them. We look forward to hearing from you.
October UPDATE- Two more caring people have responded to the need for school sponsors. Fourteen children are sponsored. NINE more are waiting for your response. Thank you for considering this very worthwhile investment.
Summer Camp Sponsorships
May 2007- A wonderful opportunity opened for the sponsorship of 4 children to attend summer camp. This one week camp is focused on Physical and Occupational Therapy. Individual assessments and attention are given to each one to improve their quality of life, as well as to train their caregivers with techinques to best care for their special needs. Hope's Heart is honored to be a small part of this special week for the children.
June UPDATE- Camp has concluded and the kids had a wonderful time. Great strides were made in promoting their physical development and training of their caregivers. We believe this camp was a tremendous asset to the children and has contributed to the improvement of their lives.
Determined to Work Hard
February 2007- Orphaned children face little hope without someone who comes along side to foster self worth, value, and a future. Shuan and Sheng (8, 13) are thankful for the chance to attend school and know someone cares enough to sponsor their education. These two boys are old enough to realize their futures depend on an education. As a way of expressing their gratefulness, both boys are determined to work very hard to meet the goals set for them.

Three New School Sponsorships
January 2007- Attending school is far more than learning to read and write. It brings with it open doors to develop in a supportive, stimulating environment with fun filled activities. We are honored to provide one year sponsorships to three little girls. Lillie, Tori, and Sydney are each experiencing a new world through their placement in a wonderful preschool setting.
March UPDATE- We have received the news we hope to hear for every orphan. Tori has been matched with her new family, and she will soon join them...forever. Lillie and Sydney continue to benefit from the attention they receive and the time spent in school.
June UPDATE- Joining Lillie and Sydney at school is Kimmie, our newest sponsor child. She smiles a lot and enjoys learning. This little girl will benefit greatly from the exposure she now has in the area of development/education.
October UPDATE- The progress being made through the devotion of their teacher to Lillie, Kimmie and Sydney is so encouraging. All the girls enjoy school and are learning and developing in many cognitive, physical, and language areas. The exposure they have to learning is a blessing to them. Thank you to Hope's Heart supporters who make their school experience possible.

School Sponsorships Continue from 2006
January 2007- School scholarships for nine orphans continue into 2007....5 kindergarten, 3 primary school, and one for adult-life preparation classes. Lo, Ming, Zhi, Fang, Guo, Ji, Gene, Whitney, and Linda each are receiving the gift of an education. These sponsorships present opportunities to the children that most orphans do not receive. In just the short time they have been attending school, each child has grown, not only in knowledge, but in self confidence, social graces, and an understanding that they are valued and valuable. You can read more about each one on the 2006 Educational & Developmental page. We will keep you updated as we receive new reports on each of these children.

January UPDATE- We love hearing reports on these special children. This month a smile came to our faces as we received word that Ming has a good appetite and likes junk food. (Don't we all!). We also were blessed with recent pictures of some of the children receiving Christmas presents. Their smiles touch our hearts.
February UPDATE- We are thrilled, once again, to receive the report that one of the children has been adopted. Ming is now with his forever family, and we rejoice with them.

April UPDATE- Whitney is making exciting progress in both math and writing skills. She likes to read and is grateful for her new books. Whitney is a diligent student.
July UPDATE- Continuing to do well in school, Whitney is excelling in math and Chinese. Her enjoyment comes from painting, which she does very well.
October UDPATE- We continue to sponsor Fang, Guo, Ji, Gene and Whitney. Each one is developing according to their abilities and finding tremendous benefits from the programs they are in.
