The provision of medical attention can be life-changing for an orphan. Hope's Heart strives to help orphans overcome physical challenges through surgeries [cleft lip/palate, heart, hernia, eye, etc], clubbed feet casting, blood transfusions, physical therapy, hearing aids, and other procedures that will correct a physical challenge or improve their quality of life.  Medical grants may also provide urgently needed medications or medical equipment.

2012 Medical Projects

Lots of Cleft Surgeries

March UPDATE-  Cheryl had successful surgery and is recovering nicely.

Cleft Palate Surgery

March 2012-  Plans are being made for Almudena to receive cleft palate repair surgery.  This adorable 3 year old had her cleft lip repaired in 2011.  Now she is being blessed with repair on her open palate as well.

The wait is over and Kenny will soon be given the chance to have his club foot aligned so that he can walk and eventually run and play with the other children.

Bladder Surgery

Four Cleft Lip Surgeries

January 2012- We couldn't think of a better way to start off the new year except to release funding for 4 more babies to receive healing through cleft lip surgery.  Lucy and Emmet received their successful surgery in early January and are already on the road to recovery.  We're hoping to see Malia and Elliott scheduled for their surgery next month.

February 2012- Malia and Elliott hd their surgery this month.

2011 Medical Projects

Intestinal Surgery

December 2011- Baby Gabe was born with a life threatening intestinal blockage that required immediate surgery.  Thankfully, he was able to be transported to the hospital and received the surgery  to save his life.  He is reported in stable condition.

January UPDATE-  Precious baby Gabe was so frail.  Sadly, he passed away.  Now in the arms of Jesus, there is no more pain or suffering.

Hernia Surgery

December 2011- Baby Yancy was hospitalized this month for  hernia surgery.  The surgery went well, and she is now recovering and being closely monitored.  Once she is health enough, Yancy will also need surgery to repair her cleft lip.

Tendon Release Surgery

December 2011-
We are pleased to play a part in giving Ty the surgery he needs to help with his balanced walking and weight bearing on his legs.

Three Cleft Repairs

November 2011-  Baby Brice might not think surgery is a 'gift' to him, but it really is.  Brice had his cleft lip repaired this month.  Soon he will be feeling better and show off his beautiful new smile.
Nancy [palate] and Alejandra [lip] are being funded for their surgeries as well.  We are grateful to the Hope's Heart donors who are making these life-changing surgeries possible.

December UPDATE-  Nancy is recovering from her late December palate surgery!  Brice is fully recovered and feeling great!

Two Cleft Lip Surgeries

October 2011-  Before too long this sweet baby girl, Ashlynn, and baby boy, Blaise, will have a new lip and a new smile.  Funding has been released to cover the costs associated with their repairs.

November UPDATE-  Blaise had a successful surgery and his repair looked wonderful.  Unfortunately, one side of the sutures gave out a week later and the lip opened.  Blaise will recover for a number of months before having the one side repaired again.

Cleft Lip Repair

September 2011-
Sweet little Max will soon have the opportunity to have his cleft lip repaired.

October UPDATE-  Surgery is completed and baby Max's lip looks wonderful.

Heart Catherization and Surgery

September 2011-  An echo-cardiogram revealed that Lenore Jean's heart will require surgery.  A heart catherization is needed, and it will diagnose the extent of damage and what surgery will be required.  Please keep this baby girl in your prayers.

October UPDATE-  After some time in the hospital for a respiratory infection, Lenore Jean is back to her foster family awaiting arrangements to be made for continued heart testing and surgery.

November UPDATE- Baby Lenore Jean has been released from ICU to the regular hospital ward after undergoing successful heart surgery.  We rejoice in this healing repair and the future she will have because of it.

December UDPATE- Praises!  Lenore Jean has been discharged from the hospital and is being carefully monitored [and loved] by her foster mother.
